Albert is the co-founder and partner for Eckel & Vaughan, a strategic communications firm based in Raleigh, NC with a focus on public affairs, branding and social media.

He has more than 18 years’ experience in corporate affairs, political strategy and strategic communications working with clients on grassroots and advocacy services, such as the American Petroleum Institute, Royal Dutch Shell, the American Chemistry Council and the North Carolina Dental Society.

Prior to co-founding E & V, he served as Director of Government and Corporate Affairs for Corning Incorporated with responsibility for issue management and legislative affairs in 10 states. Prior to Corning, Albert served as field director for State Capital Strategies, a multi-state lobbying firm based in Raleigh, NC. There, he was responsible for issue management and lobbying for ten states on behalf of Fortune 500 clients.

Albert spent four years in Washington, DC, working for The Eddie Mahe Company, a strategic communications firm focused on building political and public affairs campaigns for political and corporate clients.  He has worked on or held leadership roles in seven political campaigns in five states ranging from Washington, California, Utah, Montana and Alaska.

His strengths include coalition building, message development, grassroots management, public affairs, and political and legislative counsel.

Albert has served on numerous boards and commissions in the state of North Carolina and, mostly recently, served as the Chairman of the North Carolina Business Committee for Education.  He is also a recipient of the Old North State award by the Governor of North Carolina.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Elon University and is a graduate of the Executive Development Institute program at the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
