E&V Taps Pres Davenport as New Director of Business Development

Raleigh, NC – Eckel & Vaughan, the Raleigh-based public affairs and marketing agency, today announced that it has hired Pres Davenport of Wilmington, NC, as its new Director of Business Development.

Davenport has spent the last decade helping the Washington, DC-based New Media Strategies to grow into the nation’s largest social media agency. He has helped launch or lead the social media strategies for numerous Fortune 100 brands including Domino’s Pizza, Roche, Lowes, Lexus, TomTom, Sea World, the Golf Channel and Turner Sports.

“In his career, Pres has built lasting and meaningful relationships with his clients — partnerships built on trust, respect and a true understanding of their business needs,” said Harris Vaughan, principal at Eckel & Vaughan. “He has the unique ability to look beyond obvious solutions and help brands create differentiating solutions to their marketing, communications and public affairs challenges. Pres’s experience, expertise and passion for our craft will be an asset not only to new clients, but to each of our current partners as well.”

Eckel & Vaughan describes itself as a “conversation agency,” providing a full suite of services including marketing & advertising, public affairs, public relations, and social media. In 2011, Eckel & Vaughan hired Director of Client Services Matt Ferraguto to expand its digital division and offerings, which include social media strategy and execution, lead generation, training and online advertising through search, display, and social media. Ferraguto and Davenport will work together to ensure the seamless integration of business development efforts and operations and lay the groundwork for future expansion.

“Eckel & Vaughan’s current clients rave about how well the E&V team understands their business, their capabilities, and their objectives,” said Pres Davenport. “That type of relationship has been the key to every successful engagement I have had in the past. That’s what drew me to Eckel & Vaughan, and that’s what will fuel our growth in the future.”
