Emily brings to Eckel & Vaughan a broad range of communications experience spanning the public, private, and non-profit sectors. She understands how to craft communications plans from the ground up, as well as how to assist clients facing reputational, regulatory, litigation, and public affairs challenges.
Emily came to Eckel & Vaughan from America Votes, where she served as the national non-profit’s sole communications staffer, bringing a strategic focus to its digital presence, driving state-based advocacy communications efforts, and leading its communications-focused internship program. Prior to her time at America Votes, Emily learned the ropes of agency life at CLS Strategies, a Washington, D.C.-based strategic communications and public affairs firm, where she worked with clients across a diverse array of industries to meet their communications needs.
Emily graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service with a B.S. in international politics. While in college, Emily served as a press intern in the U.S. Senate and enjoyed studying Spanish and Portuguese.
A recent North Carolina transplant, Emily joined Eckel & Vaughan in 2019 and is eagerly exploring the many adventures her new home state has to offer, from its delicious food scene to its gorgeous state parks.
