Leigh Allen Guth recently joined Eckel & Vaughan as the practice supervisor for public engagement. She has focused her career advocating for clients and equipping them to make informed decisions. Audiences have included local government, nonprofits, war refugees, adults with disabilities, and the agriculture community.
With a sincere desire to understand diverse voices, Leigh initiates questions, discussions, and resolutions. During her 16-year tenure with the N.C. Cooperative Extension, she facilitated a statewide local food system team, farmers market expansions, Pitt County’s Human Relations Commission’s strategic plan, and Pitt County’s successful pursuit of “All-America County” distinction in 2020.
The first generation off the farm, Leigh is a native of Williamston, North Carolina, and a graduate of Mars Hill University with bachelor’s degrees in history, French, and political science. She holds a master’s degree in multicultural education from the American University in Washington, D.C. She recently returned to Mars Hill with her husband Brad, twin daughters, and their rescue dog, Jambo.
