A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, McGavock holds her accreditation in public relations, is a two-time PRSA Silver Anvil winner, and has served on the Southeast District Board of the Public Relations Society of America. She sits on boards of directors for a number of regional non-profit organizations, including Now Serving. An eastern North Carolina native and mom to a burgeoning chef, she resides in Raleigh with her husband, Jeff, and their springer spaniel, Birdie.
