With more than 20 years of experience in public relations and integrated communications, McGavock brings a wealth of knowledge focused on connecting the right message with the right audience at the right time. Clients look to her for strategic counsel and tactical execution for a multitude of activities — from crisis communications and reputation management to media relations, employee communications, and social media marketing.
McGavock joined Eckel & Vaughan after serving as vice president with IMRE, headquartered in Baltimore, Md. Prior to working at IMRE, she worked at Epley Associates, one of the first and most well-respected public relations agencies in North Carolina. McGavock became a partner at Eckel & Vaughan in 2021.
McGavock brings E&V clients best practices from well-known brands such as John Deere, Black & Decker, BB&T, GlaxoSmithKline, and more. She listens to client business goals, identifies audience insights, and helps create a path to connectivity and ultimately, success.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, McGavock holds her accreditation in public relations, is a two-time PRSA Silver Anvil winner, and has served on the North Carolina Chapter and the Southeast District Board of the Public Relations Society of America. In 2020, she was awarded the Michael L. Herman Award for Excellence in Mentoring, named for one of her very own PR industry mentors. Also involved in the local Triangle community, she serves on the board of The Sunday Supper and Enloe High School PTSA. McGavock resides in Raleigh with her husband, Jeff, and their son.
